Andrew Castrique resides in the Adelaide Hills town of Nairne and has done so since 1985.
Mr Castrique works as a Laboratory Technician at a well known Adelaide high school and will use his expertise in the education sector to stand for accessible, affordable education and more funding for support programs in our schools.
Andrew is serious about tackling climate change and believes that neither of the old parties have the courage to make the tough decisions to prevent catastrophic global warming.
“We must not let the oil, energy and transport conglomerates distract us from our task of addressing global warming. Tough decisions need to be made that will in the long run ensure that our environment and our beautiful Adelaide Hills and Lower Lakes are there for our children and grandchildren to enjoy for generations to come.”
Andrew wants to ensure that the residents of Mayo have access to frequent and good quality public transport and he would like to see the Adelaide-Melbourne freight line rerouted through the north of Adelaide so that the Belair line can be electrified and extended to at least Mt Barker.
Andrew Castrique was the Democrats candidate for Mayo in the 2007 Federal Election.
